Government-run public schools tend to follow a British curriculum and are mainly only
to Caymanians; most expat children can not attend as there aren't enough
resources and funding. The exception is for children of employees that are
working on contract to Government; fees are about CI$200 - CI$300 per term.
Private schools tend to follow a US Curriculum. The private school choices are
outstanding! Not only do the private schools offer a high standard of education,
but they offer a diversity which would be difficult to find in the US.
There are children and teachers from all over the world. Some Caymanian
parents send their children to the private schools, if they can afford it,
because they offer quality education and diversity. Private school fees will
set you back between CI$4,000 and CI$5,500 per year.
Many of the schools are affiliated with local churches and have a strong
religious element in their curriculum.
